#OOTD: Autumn, a new season of fashion and food to embrace

Coat – Vistula, mens collection (my husbands)
Knit Sweater – Gap Canada
Jeans – Zara
Boots – Lasocki
Bag – Chylak
Hat – Juicy Couture

In Canada, we are lucky enough to have four seasons – ask me about this again in the middle of a winter storm or unbearable humidity, but the truth is, I have learned to enjoy and embrace it all. With each season a new set of clothing and meals to embrace. Maybe that sounds a bit dramatic, but the truth is that an apple pie tastes best in October, while a strawberry smoothie is best in the summer.

Along with our change in taste, our style evolves accordingly. The first thing we do when adjusting from summer to autumn is we begin layering our clothing; and there’s an entire article series on the topic of layering, starting with this post. Since most days during the fall it’s cold in the morning, with temperatures rising during the day, the difference can be quite drastic in terms of our fashion choices. You can go from wearing a puffy coat in the morning, to just a hoodie in the afternoon.

My go-to autumn uniform is a pair of comfy jeans, a cozy light(er) knit sweater, and a jacket. This outfit can easily take me from morning school drop off, to errands, and right through to afternoon pick up and activities. Personally, I opt for a boot of some sort or running shoe (whichever works best with the outfit) since my feet always seem to get cold first, and that just throws me off the entire day.

As for this outfit, it is one of many, that I will show you with products from my favourite Polish/European brands. There is something so special for me in purchasing products from brands, especially Polish, as I feel it brings me closer to my motherland and heritage.

Vistula

The jacket is actually from my husbands closet and from the brand Vistula; which translates to Wisla, the longest river in Poland, and ninth in Europe. Vistula started as a mens clothing shop, but has now evolved to carry women’s collections as well.

Chylak

Chylak is an accessory brand founded in Warsaw Poland which specializes in luxe yet affordable pieces. All of their bags are designed and made in Poland, with a passion to the Polish heritage and lifestyle. The brands latest F/W 2024 Campaign showcases this impeccably.
