This Vest is Older than my Marriage #OOTD

Vest – Bought from a local market in Zakopane, Poland
Knit Sweater and Jeans – Zara
Bag – Lasocki
Boots – Django and Juliette

Another beautiful Autumn weekend is behind us, and if it wasn’t for my phone’s gentle reminder that it’s November, I would have to pretend that it’s still September. The weather in Ontario has been greeting us with higher-than-average temperatures, along with sunny blue-sky days. We might even be at that point now where we are scared to talk about how lucky we feel with this weather, just to not jinx it.  Nevertheless, we have been truly blessed with the most wonderful weather this Autumn, and hopefully, these positive attitudes can continue to shine bright through those upcoming cold snowy days.

In keeping with my Polish Brands outfit trend (I told you I have many), let’s talk about this #OOTD.

This vest is also older than my children; combined.

For as long as I can remember, as a child, travelling to Zakopane in Poland was an incredible experience. Zakopane is located in the Polish mountains and is known for having its own Polish-style culture – defined by the dreamy landscapes, warming hearty meals, and natural way of life.

In terms of fashion, the highlight of a trip to Zakopane (or any of the other local cities in the area), is purchasing leather slippers, a leather coat, or a fur vest; it’s just tradition, and you don’t visit Poland without embracing tradition. I purchased this vest years ago, on a family trip to Zakopane. It was a rainy chilly day, as expected in the mountains, as we strolled through the market admiring all the leather and handmade goods. I had been keen on purchasing this kind of vest for many years before this visit, and this time the stars just aligned. The perfect colour, the perfect length, and the perfect price (these handmade and leather goods can be quite pricey). I’m a natural overthinker, so I had to let this marinate, but after dinner, a good night’s sleep, and some breakfast, my mind was made up and we returned to the market to purchase the vest. The quality of the material and craftsmanship is impeccable. This is one of those pieces that you can hand down to your children; along with the story.

Another Polish Handbag.

My handbag is from a brand called Lasocki; a Polish designer, who specializes in leather goods, specifically women’s, men’s, and kid’s shoes. My entire family has been a fan of these shoes (here is another post with Lasocki shoes) as they are very well made, comfortable, and (thank goodness) stylish.  During my last trip to Europe, I was interested in exploring other Lasocki products aside from the familiar shoe collections, and I came across handbags (go figure – my middle name should be handbag). I fell in love with this bag because of its soft leather, the wide shoulder strap, and how spacious it is. As soon as I arrived back in Canada I started noticing fashion trends leaning towards this style of bag, and couldn’t help but give myself a pat on the back. Europe, as always ahead of the fashion game, and I was lucky enough to catch up.

The footwear matters

Django and Juliette is not a common brand like Uggs or Sorels, but it goes a long way in terms of comfort, style, and foot health. Yes, foot health; these shoes are made with extra arch support, a comfortable heel, and durable breathable materials. It’s embarrassing to say how long I’ve had these shoes (perhaps going into year 10 now…) but that also goes to show the quality. The floral designs and simple boot style caught my eye when I first bought them, and to this day I get compliments whenever I wear them.

As always, thank you for visiting. I hope to have inspired your next outfit!
